welcome to 4th grade!
Let me introduce myself. I have been an elementary teacher for 12 years and this is my 6th year at Guy B. Teachey. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in middle grades math education. I had a home daycare while my three daughters were young and discovered I really liked working with elementary aged children. After working with younger children I decided to get an add-on license in elementary education. I have taught both 4th and 5th grades.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, physical fitness, and reading. I have been married to my husband, Ray, for 30 years. We have three daughters. My oldest daughter, Morgan, is in her first year of graduate school at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is studying architectural engineering. My daughter, Elizabeth, is a junior at UNC Chapel Hill studying Political Science and Economics. She is currently doing a semester abroad in Germany. My youngest daughter, Shelby, is a high school junior at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham.
I am excited about our upcoming school year and look forward to getting to know my students and their families.
